WHAT'S IN YOUR SOAP?

Anyone can make soap and say that it is all natural, the question is, what is in your soap?  Do you know if your natural soap contains a chemical fragrance? Can you even pronounce the ingredients in the bar you bought from the store?  Chemicals in soaps are very harsh and can cause skin damage over a period of time.
When starting our soap business, I wanted to offer you an all natural product, free from preservatives, chemicals, synthetic and lab made fragrances.   Your skin is one of the largest organs you have and it absorbs whatever you put on it.  We take pride in knowing that we carefully chose each and every ingredient, with you and your skin in mind. All of our ingredients are from Certified Organic resources and we also use locally sourced Goat Milk, Hops, Wine & Lavender Buds right here in Ashe County and the surrounding areas!

YOUR SKIN WILL TELL YOUR LIFE STORY...!

WHERE DO WE GET OUR GOAT MILK?
Picture
                          Heritage Homestead Goat Dairy
Heritage Homestead Goat Dairy is nestled on 17 acres in the mountains of Ashe County just outside of Jefferson, North Carolina. Carol and Lon Coulter purchased the old Florence Kelly home place in 1994, which had been a working cow dairy until the early 70s. To help clear the briars and brambles that had taken over the farm, the Coulters purchased goats. One thing led to another and soon enough Carol was milking goats and taking cheese classes. For the last 6 years the Coulters have worked toward becoming a licensed dairy and in January of 2009 Heritage Homestead was licensed.
The Coulters raise Saanens, Alpines and a few Nubians. Their wonderful sweet milk is made into farmstead cheese sold at local farmers’ markets and select retail shops. The goats are milked for 8 months out of the year and bred and kid in mid March-April and the cycle begins again.

What benefits does Goat's Milk have for your skin?

Mother Nature definitely blessed us with Fresh Goat's Milk, one of our most nurturing ingredients yet!  For centuries it has been used in skin care and is well known for its excellent moisturizing properties.
Goat's Milk has alpha hydroxy acids and lactic acid which help remove dead skin cells from your skin. This leaves your skin feeling smoother and looking younger. These acids can also break down the bonds that hold dead skin cells together! Removing dead skin cells helps many different skin conditions by removing the irritation and itching. Other water-based soaps may use harsh chemical acids to accomplish this, which frequently leads to skin-damaging results.

Commercially made soaps contain harsh chemical ingredients, Goat's Milk is rich in fatty acids and cholesterol which will help improve dry skin. It is also rich in Vitamin A, which is also known to have anti-aging properties
To improve dry skin, the lipid barrier must be restored and rehydrated. Goat Milks high cholesterol and fatty acid levels may replace missing fats while providing moisture to allow for better water retention.

Goat's Milk Soap is a gentle, traditional soap with many potential benefits. Its creaminess lends well to conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and dry skin, as it keeps skin nourished and hydrated thanks to its non-stripping properties. Our Goat's Milk Natural Soap may help keep your skin looking youthful and acne-free due to its content of exfoliating lactic acid

So go ahead and get your favorite Goat's Milk Bar of soap and if we don't have what you like, email us and we will make it just for you!  Also call ahead to schedule a visit to Heritage Homestead Goat Dairy, Carol and Lon have the best cheese in the High Country!

Organic Raw Honey...

Did you know Honey you may purchase at the grocery store has been found to have more corn sugars in it than natural raw honey. They also remove the pollen, this removes all the great benefits that you would obtain from using or consuming honey. So when you live in the High Country of the mountains you have access to the best of the best.  My neighbor Wayne Berry, of A Berry Patch Farm lives right next door, how much more locally sourced can it get.  Here's a few reasons why we use honey in our Natural Soap.

  1.  Raw Honey is Antimicrobial, this prevent the growth of certain bacteria.
  2.  Adding Raw Honey to Natural Soap, adds to the lather giving you a nice bubbly bar of soap.
  3.  Honey is great for damaged or dry skin due to antioxidant and humectant properties.
  4.  Raw Honey helps kill bacteria that may cause acne and will help skin heal faster
  5.  Humectant properties help to moisturize and smooth the skin, raw honey does that naturally.
  6.  Raw Honey is also good for you inside and out.
  7.   Helps to protect the skin while under the sun.
  8.  Honey also supplies the skin with enough nutrients for growth of new tissue
  9.  Raw Honey is an emollient, used as a way to smooth and soften the skin while reducing any patches of rough, dry and flaky skin.
 10.  Raw Honey also is and Antioxidant, by destroying free radicals, antioxidants on the skin will help protect the skin from sun damage and      promotes looking younger.
